I borrowed a torque wrench from my father. He had the original packaging, including the insert card.

I love the empty parking lots during the summer session at school. Too bad the eight-week classes have to be three hours a night. I’ve been catching up on some remedial classes before entering graduate school next year. It’s strange going back to school and being ten years older than most of the other students.
This project is inspired by Pilar Lofo. Photos of a DIY Nitrous System for the SAAB 9-5. I’m not ready to release the instructions yet, still working out the bugs… they seem to be attracted to the sticky energy-drink residue.

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS’ DAY!
The wife says I can’t use our money to purchase a Stage 1 ECU upgrade. Something about frivolous, waste of… something… I don’t know, the engine revving noises in my head were drowning out her voice at that point. So I’ll be slowly squirreling away money for this project. My goal is $1000 total and to save at least $100 a month, but I don’t plan on it taking 10 months. I’d really like to get this done in the summer while the streets are snow, salt, and sand free and the weather is nice.
I added a little tally near the bottom at the side of the page, for my own motivation. I figure my fear of the public seeing the tally not changing will keep me moving the project along.

It’s almost spring, the weather is almost nice, the sun is almost shining, the car is almost clean, sounds like it is almost the perfect morning to take some photos.

A guy brings his SAAB 9-5 into the local shop and says to his mechanic, “There is something terribly wrong with my car.” The mechanic says, “Can you describe what kind of problems are you having?” The guy answers, “Well, the car is still running great, but I was driving down the road and all of the sudden the Check Engine light turned off.”

This is the second chip I’ve got in the past month from cars kicking up the gravel that the road crews use to treat the streets in the snow and ice. Both happened in the exact same stretch of highway.

It’s positioned right where I look to check for traffic at intersections. Insurance will fix these things for free, but it’s never the same as a crisp new windshield.

I put tape over it to keep water out. We are getting a lot of “60 degree temperature rain turning to subfreezing ice and snow” events this year. The last thing I need is for freezing water to cause this bullseye to spread into a full crack.
My SAAB shows up in an advertisement for the local franchise of a popular sandwich shop inside a magazine about the town’s restaurants. I blurred the names and locations to protect the innocent.

I just discovered that PBS is going to produce an animated sitcom based on the NPR show Car Talk, featuring Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers. The show is suppose to start in the summer. I look forward to seeing an episode; hopefully they can capture the entertainment and charm of the radio program.
